Ryan Thomas Messmer decided he was ready to meet his family!! He came four weeks early. On April 2, 2010 at 7:45am my water broke. Scott, the boys and I were all at home. It was Good Friday. The boys and Scott had plans to go to the Houston Open and watch golf while I went to stock up on things for our house. Well, our plans changed that morning. My docotor's office was closed (Good Friday) so I was told I would have to go straight to the hospital to confirm my water broke. Thank goodness we have amazing friends. I called our friend Stephanie at the last minute and asked her if she could take care of Matthew and Logan because we were sure we were going to have a baby. We dropped the boys off and went to the hospital. We arrived to the hospital and checked in and it was confirmed we were having a baby.
I was hooked up to the heart monitor and my IV was started and we waited. I had the best experience. Ryan was moving and things were moving on track. Ryan came at 6:20pm. I was so happy because I was worried about Matthew and Logan having to spend the night away from us for the first time. Once again we have amazing friends. Kelly and Greg had the boys for the evenning and Greg was able to bring the boys up to the hospital to meet Ryan. What an amazing day for us.
We would like to thank everyone that has helped us with meals. Thank you Christy, Emilie, and Janet for helping with the boys after school and taking Matthew to gymnastics. We have felt so loved and blessed. Friends like all of you are hard to find and I have to say we are sooooo lucky. You are all like an extended family to us. Thank you for all your support and help.
We are going on two weeks now and we are all adjusting well to Ryan in the house. Having three boys keeps us busy but it's worth it. Having three does not slow down. Ryan has been to Target, the park, and gymnastics. We stay so busy that Ryan will have to learn what it means to "get up and go!!"
Thank you everyone for your prayers and support. We love you all!!

32 weeks!
We are 32 weeks into this pregnancy. Things have been going well and Ryan is looking good. We had an ultrasound on Tuesday. He weighs 4 pounds 10 ounces. He is sitting a little low and I have been feeling some pressure. Well, we found out that I'm 1cm dilated. The doctor said this is normal since it's our 3rd baby!!
Ryan's kidneys are still dilated. At this point we will continue to monitor and once he is born it will probably be recommended that we see a specialist. We had to do the same thing with Logan and he is fine.
I did have my three hour glucose test and it came back normal. We were so happy! Thanks for those prayers.
Things here at home are ready for Ryan. The boys and I washed all of Ryan's clothes and put them all up. We have diapers, bottles and his bed all ready for him. The boys are so excited. It's so sweet. Matthew and Logan like to talk to Ryan and like to see him move. It's funny because at night you can see Ryan shifting his weight side to side. Matthew is very curious about how Ryan is going to come into our world. At dinner last night he said is Ryan going to come out of your mouth mommy? Scott told him the doctor has special tools to help Ryan come out. You should have seen Matthew's eyes. His eyes watered and he said "I'm scared for you mommy." Scott said it's okay the doctor's did the same thing when you came out of mommy's tummy. I told Matthew it wouldn't hurt and he said "oh yeah I remember when I was in your tummy." It's amazing but Matthew has grown up so much in the last few months. It's like God looked at our family and said I know it's going to be hard to be a mom of three boys so let me give you some extra help. (LOL)
Our next doctor's appointment is in two weeks. After that we go once a week. Time has gone by so fast. We are just so excited to see what baby Ryan is going to look like.
We hope that everyone is doing well and we will keep you posted!

28 weeks and counting
Nine more weeks and Ryan will be full term!! When I think of 9 weeks I think about how much we still need to get done at home. Wow!! Time has gone by so fast. Just when I have things figured out with our family we are going to add a new little one to the mix. I'm already getting ready for my 3am feedings with Ryan. I wake up around 3 every night. Sometimes I'm awake for almost 2 hours. I end up watching Oprah and late night entertainment. Now I'll know what I want to watch when I'm feeding Ryan (LOL)
Ryan weighs 2 pounds 11 ounces and seems to be a week over what he should be. The ultrasound tech could even see that Ryan has lots of hair. How crazy is that! He is a big mover and I think it's because he can hear his brother's playing and talking to him. Matthew and Logan can't wait to meet baby Ryan. Both boys will kiss my belly and will talk and sing to Ryan. It's so much fun! The boys are even getting ready for the new addition by going to bed on time and sleeping in Logan's room that has twin beds. God knows what we need at the right time.
This past Tuesday I took my glucose test and my results were not good. I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow and take a 3 hour glucose test. Pray that this test comes back with good numbers and I don't have to do any special testing.
Ryan's kidneys still have fluid and we will continue to monitor him. This means more pictures in 3 more weeks. It's always fun to see him moving.
We are all staying busy around here and hope everyone is doing well.
Talk soon!
